KFAB Radio Interview - December 21, 2006

My sister and I had a little bit of excitement last night. (12/20/2006) We were the guests on a local radio program here in Omaha, NE, KFAB with Tom Becka. You can hear it on http://www.3fatangels.com/ We made a pact before the show...no embarrassing stories or comments about each other.

My sister writes children's books. She has just completed a children's story coloring book. It's creative, entertaining, very FUNNY, and has a great message! It helps kids to not be afraid at night when they go to bed. She's been enteraining us for years so it only seems natural that she is making her book available on the internet. I produced an audio book to go along with her coloring book on which my daughter Emily does the voice of the main character, Dani, and I did the voice of the girl angel, Gert. I altered the pitch of my voice a bit just sos you don't think I sound like a little girl. The production was a lot of work, but a lot of fun as well. With the audio book comes a kid's song I wrote just a couple of weeks ago specifically for her book, called, "Close Your Eyes". The whole project was a lot of fun...creating something with my sister..just like when we were kids. There are samples of the song, the audio book, and the coloring book on her web page....for free

The great thing about her coloring book is that you can print it out right from your own printer (no shipping and handling charges) and it's only $2. I am very proud of her. The audio book, which includes the song, will sell for $3, so for the audio book, the song, and the coloring book, it's only $5 total, but they can be purchased separately. I hope you all check it out. If you know any kids in your neck of the woods, they will have a lot of fun with it. It's a great Christmas gift!

I got a bit of airplay during the interview. When it sounds like the interview is over, Tom Becka comes back on after the break using one of my Christmas songs as bumper music and gives me a mini interview. Nice guy. We had a great time.

Happy Holidays,
Roxanne

November 3rd, 2006 - November 3, 2006

I've decided to take a break from playing at McFosters for a while and focus on writing more songs.

However I will be performing at Mick's Music Bar in Benson from time to time and will post the dates here as I do so. It is located at 5918 Maple Street (Benson)

McFosters: Aug 4th, 2006 - August 4, 2006

Tonight was a beautiful evening to sing on the patio. There was a slight breeze that added magic to the evening. There was not an empty seat in the house, and the crowd was great - very attentive and fun. See my Aug 4th photos for 2 great guys who helped make the evening fun. Thanks for listening and I hope to see you again sometime. Oh, and the vegetable tempura was absolutely fabulous!! One nice benefit of singing is I get a free meal!

McFosters: July 7th, 2006 - July 8, 2006

Very nice evening outside but I didn't get to play outside. The venue was double-booked so I played inside while Opie Hendrix and Carrie Ann played outside. In the end it all worked out. I talked with Opie and Carrie Ann after my show and they were very friendly. We also did a CD swap. A lady and her husband come up to me after my show and told me "You're really Good! I really enjoyed listening to you!" That's what it's all about...making people feel good. That makes it all worth the planning and preparation for the evening. Thanks guys! I should have thought to get a picture with you. Next time I will.

McFosters: June 2nd, 2006 - great summer evening! - June 3, 2006

Another gorgeous day out but this time there were many people out on the patio listening. I got several comments on my "....beautiful voice" And boy is that nice to hear! Especially when self doubt rears it's ugly head! A group of friendly guys liked my version of "Hold Me Now" by the Thompson Twins, and one of the staff members commented on how much she enjoyed my new song, "Arms Wide Open". I got a big gracious bow from a Joni Mitchell fan for my rendition of 'Big Yellow Taxi". 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow" went over great as well. All in all a great night!

McFosters: May 6th, 2006 - June 3, 2006

Not a very good night for singing at McFosters. A gorgeous day out...not many people there to hear me sing. Feeling a bit down this evening. There's always next time.

McFosters: Apr 19th, 2006 - Hans York - April 20, 2006

Tonight rather than being the performer, I had the joy of watching Hans York perform. It was an awesome show! Amazing guitar player! Not only did he put on a great show, he is just the nicest guy, real genuine. We had a great time talking and getting to know one another. I had fun singing harmony with him on a few of his songs. What a treat! I played a few of my own songs as well and Hans provided excellent backup. Thanks Hans!

I happened to have my mp3 player with me so I had Hans listen to Stephen Bishop's song 'On and On' as he sounds a bit like Stephen Bishop at times. He was swaying with my headphones on, loved the song, and commented on Bish's wonderful voice. Although Hans sounds like Bish at times, he most definitely has his own style and even sounds like Sting at times.

This guy is going places.... and Hans if you read this, thanks for the wonderful evening. You are a true pleasure.

See the picture in the photo gallery taken right before Hans performed.
Standing from left to right is Hans, "Fraggle", a friendly guy who I met that evening, and his friend. My friend Delores and her son, Jordan came a little later on and had an awesome time as well! Jordan loved Han's song, "Inside Out". Thanks for the memories guys!

All you have to do is search the name, 'Hans York' and you'll find his website and a true gem. But here is his website anyway: http://www.hansyork.com/ Enjoy!

McFosters: Apr 7th, 2006 - April 8, 2006

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with my posting. I've been soooo busy. I was unable to perform in April. I had a family event that I just couldn't miss. Had a great time though. I'll be back on May 5th with a new song I wrote entitled, "Do You Care If I Fall?" Hope you come out to hear it. I'll be singing on the patio unless it's raining. When you come out try the 'vegetable tempura' appetizer. Tell Mary I sent you so I can get a free smoothie or something. :)

McFosters: Sep 2nd, 2005 - September 3, 2005

What a beautiful night to play outside! Thanks to all of you who came to watch me sing and for your kind words. I had a great time! I will be bringing a new song I wrote to my next show called, "Arms Wide Open". I hope you come on out and hear it.

McFosters: Jul 1st, 2005 - July 2, 2005

I have been so busy I've haven't logged for a while. I had a few very special guests in my audience tonight - my aunt, my sister, and my nephew. Thanks guys for coming out! Thanks also to the rest of you who bought my CD and left me tips. I would probably do it for free, but it's nice to feel appreciated. I am planning my next show, and will be bringing some new original songs that I have not yet played publicly so I hope you come out for it. Until then......take care.

McFosters: Mar 4th, 2005 - March 5, 2005

What a great crowd this was! McFosters was packed -- literally! I had a great night and met some really nice people.
